The space

Escape to a peaceful lake home near Crosby and Crosslake with easy access to mountain biking, golf, and fishing.

Cuyuna Moon offers one-level living with three spacious bedrooms and two updated bathrooms. Bedroom one boasts a king bed suite with a large smart TV and an en suite bathroom, while bedroom two has two full-size beds, and bedroom three features a twin over full bunk bed. The living room provides additional sleeping options, with pull-out queen and pull-out twin beds.

Inside, guests will find a fully stocked kitchen, seating for 8 around the dining table, a modern interior with a large smart TV, and a connected 3-season porch with additional seating and a game table.

Outside, guests can indulge in peace and tranquility in a very quiet setting. Enjoy free use of yard games such as cornhole, ladder ball, bocce, horseshoes, and more. For cozy nights around the bonfire, the fire pit comes with a large supply of firewood and marshmallow toasting sticks.

On the lake, guests will discover a serene setting that showcases nature and the best of the north woods. The property provides a dock, a floating swim dock, four kayaks, and two paddleboards. Additionally, for a small additional fee, a fishing boat is available, allowing for long days on the lake to soak in the beautiful scenery.

Other amenities include free high-speed Wi-Fi, smart TVs, a complimentary washer/dryer, a garage, bike stand and tools, Pack 'N Play, high chair, games, puzzles, books, and more!

Guest access

You will have full access to the entire house, the connected garage, the laundry room, and the beautiful Fool Lake, as well as the expansive property. Please note that the detached building on the property is used for host storage and is not available for guest access.

Additional notes

Please practice good water safety while enjoying Fool Lake and our property, including the use of life jackets for water sports and activities. We provide life jackets, kayaks, SUPs, a paddleboat, and a dock for your convenience.

Cut firewood is on site and free of charge to our guests.

Kitchen is stocked with cookware, silverware, plates, glassware and most of the other supplies and non-perishable items you may need.

Fishing boat rental is an additional charge and subject to availability - please reserve boat in advance.

Neighborhood overview

The Cuyuna Moon lake home is located in a serene, quiet neighborhood on Fool Lake, just off County Road 11 between Crosby and Crosslake. Our neighborhood is surrounded by the beauty of the north woods, and offers easy access to a variety of nearby attractions. The Cuyuna Recreation Area and direct access to hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails are just a short distance away.

Upon arriving in our neighborhood, guests will take a short, well-graded/plowed gravel road to the end of a cul-de-sac where our property is situated slightly above the road. Surrounded by beautiful trees, including firs, poplars, birch, pine, and more, our property offers over 200' of natural lakeshore on Fool Lake, with a small dock for easy fishing from shore.

We provide life jackets, kayaks, and SUPs for our guests to enjoy Fool Lake safely. For those bringing their own boat, guests can request access to the private Fool Lake access with our access key. Larger boats can be parked on our property to be launched at one of the public access points on nearby lakes.

In the winter, our guests can enjoy snowmobiling on the Emily Outing Snowmobile trail, which is part of the larger Brainerd Area snowmobile trail network. Our property also offers ample parking for vehicles with toy trailers, campfires, and yard games.

Within a 10-minute drive, guests can explore the Cuyuna Recreation area Yawkey Unit for biking, Crosby with its great food, shopping, and beverages, Milford Mine Memorial Park, Pine/Mississippi rivers, and several nearby lakes. The area also offers a bait shop and public access to popular lakes such as Pelican, Mission, Rabbit, and Serpent.

Within a 15-20 minute drive, guests can explore Crosslake restaurants, Crosswoods Golf, Cuyuna Rolling Hills Golf, Rutgers Bay Lake Golf, Deacon's Lodge Golf, Breezy Point resort, Nisswa with its Chocolate Ox for sweets and ice cream, multiple microbreweries, and dozens more world-class lakes.

For those willing to venture a bit further, the nearby Brainerd/Baxter area offers a wide range of amenities, including Pines Golf, Preserve Golf, Golden Eagle Golf, the Whitefish chain of lakes, and more. Our neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, yet provides easy access to all the area's best activities

Getting around

We have ample free parking on our well-maintained gravel parking areas, which can accommodate trucks and toys. Our driveway is on a slight incline up to the house, but it is well-graded and regularly maintained.

Please be aware that we are located on a gravel road that is well-maintained (as are many homes and attractions in the area). If it rains during your stay and you come and go frequently, your car may need a wash at the end of your trip.

Please note that RVs are not allowed to be occupied on the property in accordance with Crow Wing rental property rules.

House Rules

1) Payment: Full payment is due prior to check-in.

2) Late check-out fee: Unauthorized late check-out fee is $50. For unauthorized late check-out of more than 2 hours, the fee is one-day rental fee & possible reimbursement of cancelled guest bookings lost to late-check-out.

3) No unregistered guests or subletting: Only registered guests are allowed on the property, and subletting of the house is not allowed.

4) No eating or drinking in bedrooms: Please refrain from eating or drinking in the bedrooms.

5) Care of furnishings: Please take care of the furnishings. You will be responsible for any damages incurred during your stay.

6) Dishes and dishwasher: Please wash your dishes or run the dishwasher before leaving.

7) Septic system: We are on a septic system, so please flush only #1, #2, and toilet paper. Do not dispose of greases, oils, or cleaners down the drains.

8) Trash: Please take the kitchen (food waste) trash out before you leave to the garbage container.

9) Garbage collection day: Garbage collection day is Thursday. Please ensure the trash container is curbside prior to 7 am on Thursday.
